Putting the threaded rod through the plate. After about 20 uses of the machine I noticed the aluminium threads were not holding up well against the steel rod. So I had to make another steel bracket to put the rod through. The expansion/contraction of the different metals at cold temperatures also made it difficult to unscrew the device when a Frankensculpting session was completed
